San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is situated on 150 acres and has expanded through the decades. A $1 Billion international terminal opened in December 2000, replacing Terminal 2. The extension of the BART system to the airport opened in 2003, allowing passengers to board BART trains at the international terminal and have a one-seat ride to downtown San Francisco or the East Bay. In 2003, the AirTrain people mover opened, transporting passengers between terminals, parking lots, the BART station, and the rental car centers. Various projects included runways, terminals, baggage claim areas, bridges, gates, canopies, jet fuel containment, and others.
Signet provided special inspection and material testing services including geotechnical lab testing, soils/AC compaction observation, pile/pier observation, batch plant, concrete placement, steel/specialty testing, rebar placement, high-strength bolting and proof load/torque testing.
